Rohit & Sneha's story
My name is Rohit, and this is how my marriage was arranged. After reviewing many biodatas, one proposal caught our attention. Her family reviewed my career and salary, and after a few phone calls, they approved the proposal. We met at a formal family gathering where we both confirmed our consent in front of everyone. During that same meeting, our engagement and wedding dates were finalized, marking the first time we were able to talk and take family photos together.

Haldi
In Maharashtrian Hindu weddings, the Haldi ceremony is traditionally known as Halad Chadavane (Applying the Turmeric). It is held a day before or on the morning of the wedding day, typically conducted separately at the groom's and bride's respective homes.

Marriage
A Maharashtrian wedding day in 6 key steps:
* Puja & Welcome: The bride worships Goddess Parvati (Gaurihar), while her mother welcomes the groom (Seeman Puja). Both wear pearl forehead strings (Mundavalya).
* Antarpat & Mangalashtak: A silk curtain separates the couple while holy verses are chanted. The curtain drops (Shubhamangala Savdhan), guests shower colored rice (Akshata), and garlands are exchanged.
* Kanyadaan: The bride's parents formally hand her care over to the groom.
* Saptapadi & Sacred Tokens: The couple takes 7 steps around the holy fire, taking 7 vows. The groom ties the Mangalsutra and applies Sindoor.
* Rukhvat & Pangat: Guests view the bride’s handcrafted exhibition (Rukhvat) and enjoy a traditional feast (Pangat with Puran Poli and Masale Bhaat).
* Grihapravesh: The bride bids farewell (Varat) and enters her new home by gently tipping a rice pot (Kalash) with her right foot.
