Muhurtham Kal Ceremony The groom’s family gathers in front of their home for this traditional ceremony, which marks the auspicious beginning of the wedding celebrations. The family first offers prayers to God, seeking blessings for the upcoming wedding and wishing for everything to happen peacefully and successfully. A Muhurtham Kal, or a sacred wooden pole, is then prepared and placed in the ground near the entrance of the home. It is traditionally decorated with turmeric, flowers, and other auspicious items. As part of the ritual, offerings such as milk and water are poured over the sacred pole and the ground, symbolizing purity, prosperity, and blessings for the couple. The ceremony is performed together by the groom’s family, creating a joyful and auspicious start to the wedding festivities.

Wedding Reception The reception is the evening celebration where the bride and groom are formally welcomed and introduced to all the family members, friends, and guests. The couple usually sits together on a decorated stage, where guests come up one by one to wish them, give blessings, and take photographs. The evening is filled with music, conversations, photographs, and celebrations, followed by a grand fancy dinner for all the guests.
