Weddding
The groom is ceremonially welcomed by the bride’s family, and his feet are washed as a mark of respect. The most significant ritual, Mangalya Dharanam, follows, where the groom ties the sacred thaali around the bride’s neck, symbolizing their union. The couple then takes seven steps (Sapthapadi) around the fire, each step representing a vow for a harmonious and prosperous life together. Offerings are made to the sacred fire (Agni) as the couple is united in front of divine witness. Next, the couple is showered with rice grains (Akshata) by family and guests, symbolizing blessings for a happy life. The groom places a silver toe ring (Sthalipakam) on the bride’s toes, marking her marital status. Elders then bless the couple (Ashirvadam) for a prosperous future. Finally, the couple is shown the star Arundhati, symbolizing eternal companionship and their bond.

Reception
On the reception day, we begin with the Sathyanarayana Puja, a sacred ritual to invoke Lord Vishnu’s blessings for a prosperous married life. The ceremony is held with offerings of fruits, sweets, and prayers, followed by the recitation of hymns that praise the divine. After the puja, we proceed with the Chandika Homa, a fire ritual dedicated to Goddess Durga, seeking her blessings for strength, protection, and harmony in our union. The sacred fire is fed with offerings while mantras are chanted, invoking divine energy to purify the couple’s new life together. The reception is held at a stunning temple located atop a hill with over 250 steps, offering a breathtaking aerial view of the ocean and surrounding cities. The scenic beauty enhances the sacred atmosphere, making this celebration not only spiritual but also a visual delight.
