Reception
Held before the main wedding rituals, the reception is a grand event where the couple is formally introduced to family and friends. The venue is often adorned with beautiful floral decorations, traditional rangoli, and colorful lights, creating a festive ambiance. The bride and groom enter in elegant traditional attire. They are seated on a decorated stage where they greet guests, pose for photos, and receive blessings. Traditional Carnatic dance or live performances set the tone, with occasional dance numbers adding to the entertainment. The highlight of the evening is the lavish vegetarian feast, spicy chaats and main course food (different kinds of breads, spicy curries, desserts, and a whole lot more). The event is also a social gathering where families connect and network. The evening concludes with warm farewells and blessings for the couple’s new journey together.

Wedding
A traditional wedding in Karnataka, is a beautiful blend of rich customs and vibrant celebrations. The ceremony typically takes place in a decorated hall, with intricate floral arrangements, rangolis, and a sacred mandap (wedding altar) at the center. The bride, adorned in a silk saree and gold jewelry, and the groom, often in a dhoti or sherwani, are guided through rituals by a priest. These rituals, like the exchange of garlands (jaimala) and the tying of the sacred mangalsutra, symbolize the union of the couple in front of family and deities. Traditional music such as nadaswaram or Carnatic tunes plays in the background, adding to the spiritual atmosphere. The wedding also includes a grand feast, where guests are served a variety of vegetarian dishes on banana leaves. Throughout the ceremony, the air is filled with blessings, joy, and the promise of a prosperous new chapter for the couple.
