About the hosts
Chandra Kanta & Supriya's story
We are Chandra Kanta Mondal and Supriya Ghosh. I work as a Mechanical Engineer and Supriya is a Physiotherapist. Though our careers belong to different worlds, our hearts found each other in the most beautiful way. We first met as a friend, and what began as a casual introduction soon grew into something special. With every conversation and moment shared, we discovered not only love but also true friendship. Over time, we realized that we were meant to walk through life side by side. After spending wonderful moments together—supporting one another, laughing endlessly, and creating cherished memories—I knew I had found my life partner. When the proposal happened, it was filled with love, excitement, and joy that we will never forget. Now, as we step into this new chapter, we look forward to celebrating our wedding surrounded by love, laughter, and traditions. We warmly invite you to join us, share in our happiness, and make our special day truly unforgettable.

Haldi
The first day of our wedding celebrations begins with the Gaye Holud, also known as the turmeric ceremony. It is one of the most joyful and colorful traditions in a Bengali wedding. In this ceremony, family and friends apply turmeric paste to the bride and groom’s skin. Turmeric is considered very auspicious in our culture—it is believed to bless us with good health, happiness, and a glowing future together. The ceremony is filled with music, dance, laughter, and vibrant decorations in shades of yellow and orange.
Wedding Ceremony
💍 Wedding Ceremony (Biye) – On the main wedding day, we follow the sacred Bengali rituals. These include Shubhodrishti (the first time the bride and groom see each other), Mala Badal (exchanging flower garlands), and Sindoor Daan (the groom applying vermillion to the bride’s forehead, symbolizing marriage). Surrounded by family, blessings, and traditions, this is the most emotional and meaningful part of our journey.
