Arun kumar & Priyanka's story
Arunkumar ❤️ Priyanka It all started on a college bus in 2015 — two strangers turned classmates, friends, best friends, and eventually, soulmates. We studied the same course, spent four unforgettable years together, and went on to work in the IT industry for five years (Eightfold.ai & Deloitte). From silly jokes to big dreams, we’ve grown through laughter, love, and lots of little celebrations. Now, after 10 beautiful years, we’re finally tying the knot — the traditional South Indian Hindu way, just like the ancient customs of Madurai. We can’t wait to begin this next chapter and celebrate with you!

Pon Alaippu (welcoming bride)
Our wedding festivities start with the Pon Alaippu – a cherished South Indian pre-wedding ritual where both families officially bless our union and celebrate the beginning of our life together. In this beautiful tradition, the groom’s family visits the bride’s home with gifts, sweets, and symbolic tokens of love. It’s more than just a formal engagement – it’s a joyful coming together of two families, filled with blessings, laughter, and the first steps of the wedding journey. We’re so excited to honor this age-old custom, just like it’s been done for generations in Tamil culture – with warmth, grace, and love.

Wedding
We’re getting married in a traditional Tamil Hindu wedding, just like it’s been done for generations in Madurai — filled with rituals, joy, and love. As the nadaswaram and ketti melam echo through the air, the sacred thali is tied, followed by Ammi Midhichal, where Arunkumar places the metti on Priyanka’s toes. We look to the sun in Arundhathi Paarthal, seeking blessings for lasting love. Fun rituals follow — sharing milk and banana, and playful games. We take blessings from elders by touching their feet. Priyanka’s first entry into the groom’s home is celebrated with turmeric water, lighting the vilakku, and warm rituals — marking a beautiful beginning filled with tradition and happiness.
