The Nikah is a sacred Islamic marriage ceremony built on spiritual devotion, mutual respect, and clear consent. It begins at the Masjid, where the groom, loved ones, and the Imam gather to state the Mahr—a compulsory gift chosen by the bride that stands as the groom’s lifelong obligation and debt until fulfilled. After the groom gives his consent by saying "Qubool Hai" three times, a small delegation of family elders travels to the bride’s home to confirm the terms and seek her explicit consent, which she grants by repeating "Qubool Hai" three times. Once both parties, guardians, and witnesses sign the marriage contract (Nikahnama), the Imam leads a final prayer (Dua) for blessings and unity, marking the official beginning of their life together.

The grand reception (Walima) brings both families together to celebrate the newly wedded couple with a lavish feast and lively traditions. When the groom arrives at the venue, he is greeted with music, cheering, party snow sprays, and showers of fresh rose petals. In a playful display of excitement, the bride’s brother and cousins lift the groom onto their shoulders, welcoming him with a flower garland and sweet treats as a sign of affection and brotherhood. The bride’s sisters then block the entryway with a ribbon, playfully demanding a small monetary gift before letting him inside. Once settled on stage beside his bride, the couple receives blessings (Duas) and congratulations from guests before everyone gathers to enjoy the reception feast together.
