Bhaskar & Divya's story
D and me met at work, though we did not speak to each other for over a year. We had remote jobs and we never met in person but I couldn't help being drawn to her. I couldn't help staring at her corner of the screen on all teams calls, on those rare occasions that her camera was on! As luck would have it, one day, we got talking, and soon a friendship blossomed. We both liked slow travel, hiking, and had a lot in common, but what was fascinating was that all our differences only seemed to mean we had more to experience and learn together.
Now, this winter, we’re tying the knot in Guwahati. We’d love for you to be part of this cross-cultural festival, minimal, real, and full of heart. Come witness how love stitches Assam and Tamil Nadu together in style.
Day 1Sunday, November 30, 2025Guwahati
Starting time (approximately): 7:30 AM
Venue and host contact details will be disclosed upon booking.
Temple Wedding
Right after day break, we meet at this ancient Ganesha temple in the outskirts of Guwahati city. The Arya Samaj wedding begins at around 8 am, in the temple premises under trees, with mantras and chants filling up the air. Our priest will explain the meaning of these mantras, and will make sure everyone is involved in this unique wedding. Tea and light breakfast will be served as the rituals go on. Once the rituals are over, we take blessings of parents and Lord Ganesha, and move to a nearby lawn where we will all have a typical Assamese vegetarian meal, with numerous seasonal veggies and greens, some of which are only found in Assam. Post lunch time is the sundowner soiree, which will be spent river-gazing, singing and dancing as we please. We would love to have you see this mix and merging of two cultures in a place of nature and peace.
