Engagement
Welcoming the Bride’s Family
The bride’s family arrives with gifts, sweets, and special items in a decorated container called a Matli. This signifies respect, love, and the union of families.
Chandlo Matli (Tilak & Shagun)
A senior woman from the bride’s side applies a Chandlo (a red kumkum circle) on the groom’s forehead to bless him. The Matli often contains sweets, gifts, etc. This symbolizes acceptance, goodwill, and sharing.
Exchange of Rings (Sagai)
The couple exchanges engagement rings in the presence of elders and close friends, marking their commitment.
Gol Dhana Distribution
Jaggery (Gol) and coriander seeds (Dhana) are distributed to guests. These represent sweetness and prosperity in the new life ahead.
Exchange of Gifts Between Families
Both families exchange sweets, fruits, clothing, jewelry etc. It’s a gesture of goodwill, respect, and building a relationship beyond just the couple.
Mandva Muhrat
The Mandva (also called Mandap Mahurat) is a sacred pre‑wedding ritual performed a few days before the wedding. It marks the formal beginning of all the matrimonial ceremonies. It involves erecting the mandap (a decorated canopy or structure under which the wedding rituals will be performed), performing prayers, and seeking blessings for a smooth, auspicious wedding.
The families invoke Lord Ganesha at the start to remove obstacles and ensure the wedding proceeds smoothly.
Sangeet
A Sangeet is a vibrant, pre-wedding celebration where family and friends gather to sing, dance, and enjoy the joy of the upcoming union, often featuring choreographed dance performances and traditional songs with garba.
Guests can enjoy a wide variety of vegetarian dishes, giving a taste of local flavors with dances & music garba night.
Day 2Friday, December 5, 2025Surat
Starting time (approximately): 8:00 AM

Phoolon Ki Holi — “Holi of Flowers”
“Holi of Flowers.” Instead of the usual colored powders or water, this ritual involves showering flower petals on the bride & groom (and/or guests), dancing, music, joy, fragrance — all in a festive, celebratory mood. It brings together nature, beauty, color, and a lighter, more elegant version of Holi.
Wedding
Our wedding day will be a beautiful blend of tradition, nature, and celebration. The festivities begin at the evening around 4-5 PM with a grand entry of the groom and bride, marking the start of our special day. Set in an open-air venue by the serene backwaters of a farmhouse, the atmosphere will be filled with charm, live music, and joy. The ceremony will follow age-old traditions, where blessings and rituals create moments of meaning and togetherness. A colorful highlight of the day will be the varmala (exchange of garlands), accompanied by bursts of color poppers to add vibrance to the celebration. Guests will then join us for a photo session, capturing memories against the scenic backdrop. The celebration concludes with a traditional Surat, Gujarat—a lavish vegetarian feast served at a wedding, where flavors, culture, and love come together in a truly unique way.
We look forward to sharing this once-in-a-lifetime moment with you, our dear friends and family.
