Nine years ago, at our very first jobs, destiny tried to introduce us. A shy Tamil boy spotted a lift full of girls, panicked, and ran for the stairs. One of those girls, a spirited half-Malayali, half-Bengali girl, watched him and thought, “Eww, I’m never talking to this person!” Little did she know, she was very wrong. 😂 Working for the same client brought us closer. Casual conversations became friendship, endless chats became memories, and somewhere along the way, friendship quietly turned into love. He found joy in her energy. She found comfort in his quiet care. Even when he left the company, distance only made us realise what we had been avoiding — we were never just friends. For years, we called each other “Buddy.” Today, our families will happily agree that we’re still the same two kids at heart. The only difference?
