About the hosts
Shubham & Pranali's story
We’re a couple aged 26 and 24, joining in a beautiful arranged marriage that was blessed by our families. She’s my sister’s husband’s niece—someone close to my heart, though we took time to truly see her as my life partner. After meeting many girls, we felt she was the perfect fit—cultural, polite, qualified, and sanskari. Her mother promised to treat me as her son, and my parents will welcome her like their daughter. Join us to witness this special bond and the rich traditions of our Indian wedding! 💞✨

Haldi
The Haldi ceremony is a joyful pre-wedding ritual in our Marathi culture. Close family and friends gather to apply a paste made of turmeric (haldi), sandalwood, and rosewater on the bride and groom’s face and body. It’s believed to bless the couple with glowing skin and protect them from evil. The vibrant yellow color represents happiness and new beginnings. Guests dance, sing folk songs, and share laughter, making it a truly lively and heartwarming experience. 🌼✨
Engagement
The Sakharpuda, or engagement ceremony, is a heartfelt pre-wedding ritual in our Marathi culture. The families of the bride and groom come together to exchange gifts and sweets, symbolizing the formal announcement of the wedding. The groom’s family presents a “sakharpuda” (a cone of sugar) to the bride, symbolizing the sweet start of their journey together. Amidst blessings, prayers, and warm wishes, the couple exchanges rings in a moment of joy and togetherness. It’s a day filled with laughter, blessings, and family unity, creating cherished memories. ✨💍
Sangeet
The Sangeet is a colorful musical evening where families and friends gather to celebrate with music, dance, and fun. In our Marathi tradition, this joyful event allows both sides to showcase their love and happiness through lively performances, folk songs, and Bollywood hits. Everyone joins in, from the youngest cousins to the eldest relatives, sharing laughter and dance. The bride and groom are the center of attention, enjoying every beat and rhythm as they prepare to start their new journey together. 💃🎶

Wedding Ceremony
Our Marathi wedding ceremony unfolds beautifully with traditional rituals. It starts with the Saptapadi—the seven sacred steps taken around the holy fire, each step a promise for a shared life filled with love, respect, and trust. This is followed by the Phere, where the couple circles the sacred fire, strengthening their spiritual bond.
Finally, the event concludes with the Varmala ceremony, where the bride and groom exchange floral garlands, signifying their acceptance and eternal commitment to one another. Family and friends surround them, showering blessings and flowers to celebrate the beginning of their new journey together. 🌸🔥💍
