Sakharpuda
Sakharpuda, a cherished pre-wedding ritual in Maharashtrian culture, marked a joyful beginning to Siddhesh and Prajakta’s journey toward marriage. Held in the presence of close family and friends, this sweet engagement ceremony symbolized the formal approval and bonding of two families.
Prajakta was welcomed with love into Siddhesh’s family, adorned in a traditional saree with a glowing smile, while Siddhesh looked dapper in ethnic attire. The highlight was the exchange of a packet of sugar—“sakhar”—symbolizing the promise of a sweet life ahead. Rings were exchanged, blessings were given, and emotions ran high with happiness, laughter, and traditional rituals.
The atmosphere was filled with music, delicious Maharashtrian food, and heartfelt moments. It wasn’t just a celebration—it was the official start of their beautiful forever.
Haldi
The Haldi ceremony in Siddhesh and Prajakta’s wedding was a vibrant and emotional celebration filled with laughter, traditions, and blessings. Held separately at their respective homes, the ritual began with family members applying a sacred mixture of turmeric (haldi), sandalwood, and rose water to the bride and groom. This golden paste, known for its purifying and beautifying properties, was gently smeared on their faces, hands, and feet to bless them with a glowing start to their new life.
Dressed in simple yet elegant yellow outfits, Siddhesh and Prajakta glowed with happiness as their homes echoed with traditional songs, playful teasing, and warm blessings. The air was filled with the fragrance of turmeric and marigolds, while friends and cousins playfully joined in, turning the event into a joyful mess of colors and love.
The Haldi wasn’t just a ritual—it was a heartfelt reminder of the purity, joy, and warmth that marriage brings.
Main Marriage Ceremony
The Varmala and Saatphere ceremonies in Siddhesh and Prajakta’s wedding were the most emotional and sacred moments of their union.
As the music played and smiles lit up the venue, Siddhesh and Prajakta exchanged varmalas (flower garlands), symbolizing their acceptance of each other as life partners. The atmosphere was filled with cheers, petals, and joy as the couple looked into each other’s eyes, laughing through the playful yet meaningful ritual.
Later, surrounded by sacred chants and the warmth of loved ones, they took the Saatphere (seven sacred vows) around the holy fire. With each round, they promised love, respect, trust, companionship, and lifelong commitment. Every step taken together was a step toward a future built on shared values and unbreakable bonds.
These moments weren’t just traditions—they were the spiritual heart of their marriage, sealing their love not only in the presence of family and friends but also in the eyes of the divine.
