Haldi
The Haldi ceremony is a joyful pre-wedding tradition celebrated in many Muslim families, especially in South Asian cultures such as India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. It is held one or two days before the wedding and is filled with happiness, music, laughter, and family gatherings.
Sanchak
During the Sanchak function, the groom’s family visits the bride’s house carrying beautifully decorated trays known as “sanchaks.” These trays contain gifts such as bridal clothes, jewelry, cosmetics, sweets, dry fruits, flowers, and sometimes perfumes or mehendi items. The gifts are presented to the bride as a gesture of love, respect, and blessings from the groom’s family
Nikkaah
The Nikah ceremony is usually conducted by an Islamic scholar or Qazi in the presence of family members, relatives, and witnesses. During the ceremony, the bride and groom give their mutual consent to the marriage, which is an essential part of the Nikah. The marriage contract, known as the Nikahnama, is signed by both families and witnesses.
Walima
The reception is a joyful gathering filled with happiness, blessings, and togetherness. The bride and groom are beautifully dressed in elegant traditional outfits and welcomed warmly by the guests. The venue is decorated with flowers, lights, and luxurious arrangements, creating a festive and memorable atmosphere
