Tilak
In our tradition, the Tilak ceremony is not just a ritual but a joyful celebration. On this day, the bride’s family visits the groom’s house and applies tilak on the groom’s forehead as a symbol of respect and acceptance of the marriage. They also bring gifts, sweets, clothes, and shagun for the groom and his family. The atmosphere during Tilak is very lively. Everyone wears nice clothes, music is played, and families celebrate together. The bride’s father or brother applies tilak with roli and rice and gives blessings to the groom. After that, sweets are shared and everyone congratulates each other. The most special part of Tilak at our place is the fun and playful moments. The groom’s younger sister jokes with the bride’s brother, and everyone laughs and enjoys the friendly teasing. After the ritual, everyone enjoys food together like a small party. There is laughter, music, and happiness as both families celebrate and start their new relationship with love and joy.

Haldi
The Haldi ceremony is one of the most fun and joyful moments of the wedding celebrations. During this ritual, a paste made from turmeric is applied to the bride and groom by family members and friends. It is believed to bring good luck, protect from negative energy, and make the skin glow before the wedding. This is also the time when everyone enjoys a lot of fun together. Relationships like bhabhi–devar and jija–sali share playful jokes and teasing, which creates a very happy and lively atmosphere. People laugh, sing, and celebrate together. Another special thing that can sometimes be seen during this time is traditional spiritual moments. While the music and celebration continue, some women may dance in a devotional way, and it is believed that ancestral or divine energy blesses them during the celebration. Overall, the Haldi ceremony becomes one of the most memorable parts of the wedding where fun, tradition, and blessings all come together.

Barat and shadi
The Baraat and wedding ceremony are the most exciting parts of an Indian wedding. The Baraat is the groom’s wedding procession, where the groom arrives at the venue with family and friends. People dance with music and drums while celebrating his arrival. The groom often rides a horse or comes in a decorated car. When the Baraat reaches the venue, the bride’s family welcomes them with traditional rituals. After the welcome, the main wedding ceremony begins. The bride and groom sit together in front of a sacred fire while a priest performs rituals and chants mantras. The couple then takes seven rounds around the fire, making promises to support and respect each other for life. After the ceremony, elders bless the couple. The celebration continues with music, food, and happiness as both families come together to start a new relationship
