Joel & Joanna's story
In the heart of Aurangabad, the old cathedral echoed with hymns as Rachel entered in a white gown with delicate gold embroidery, holding her father's hand. Her groom, Aaron, waited at the altar, his eyes locked on hers. The church was beautifully decorated with marigolds, lilies, and candlelight. A Marathi Christian choir sang soulful melodies. The priest led prayers in Marathi and English, guiding them through their vows and ring exchange. As they were declared husband and wife, the congregation clapped joyfully. Outside, guests showered them with flower petals. The reception took place in a local garden hall, where colorful lights and traditional Indian decor set the scene. Guests enjoyed biryani, fish curry, and fruit wine. Rachel and Aaron cut their wedding cake and danced to a mix of Christian songs and Bollywood tunes. Elders blessed them, children played, and love filled the evening air.

Wedding Day
The Wedding Attire The bride typically wears a white wedding gown symbolizing purity, while the groom dons a suit or tuxedo. In some Indian Christian communities, the bride may incorporate regional elements such as a saree in white or off-white, often with a veil and floral accessories. Jewelry, especially gold, is an important part of the bride’s attire, reflecting Indian tradition. The Church Ceremony The wedding ceremony is generally held in a church, officiated by a priest or pastor. The ceremony begins with hymns, Bible readings, and prayers. The most sacred part is the exchange of vows and rings, where the couple pledges to love and support each other in the presence of God and the congregation. The priest blesses the union, and the couple is declared husband and wife. A wedding mass may follow in Catholic weddings, while Protestant ceremonies are often shorter and focus more on scripture and songs.
