Akshat & Neetu's story
Namaste, Travelers!
I am Akshat Jain, a 31-year-old Product Manager from Noida. My fiancée, Neetu Jain, is an engineer-turned-consultant working with a Big 4 firm. We are excited to invite you to our Big Fat Indian Wedding on 1st & 2nd December 2024, filled with joyous rituals like the ring ceremony, Haldi, Bollywood song night, and a traditional Chakravarti Vivah. For those unfamiliar with this special ceremony, the Chakravarti Vivah is an ancient Jain marriage ritual rooted in spirituality and simplicity. This ceremony has been described in the Jain Adi Purana.
The wedding will take place at a resort in Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh, about 2 hours from Khajuraho, known for its UNESCO World Heritage temples. We’re also close to Papora Ji, a revered Jain pilgrimage site with 108 ancient temples.
We invite you to come, celebrate with us, and make memories in the heart of India.
We hope you will make this memory with us!
Warm regards,
Akshat & Neetu

Engagement Ceremony
The engagement marks the official beginning of our wedding journey, where we exchange rings to symbolize our commitment. It will be a joyous occasion attended by close family and friends. The event will feature light rituals, emotional speeches, and blessings from elders. Following the formal exchange of rings, there will be a photo session and a small celebration with drinks, snacks, and music. This intimate gathering will set the tone for the larger celebrations ahead, ensuring that everyone feels included in the love and joy shared between the couple
Haldi Ceremony
The Haldi ceremony is a fun, vibrant ritual where turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom’s skin to bless them with good health and glowing skin. This event will take place separately for the bride and groom at their respective locations, surrounded by family and close friends. The atmosphere will be light-hearted with music, laughter, and lots of splashing of turmeric. After the Haldi application, traditional songs and dances will be enjoyed by all, followed by refreshments. The bright yellow theme will bring out the festive spirit and warmth of this occasion.
Sangeet
The Sangeet night is the most entertaining part of the pre-wedding festivities. It will be an evening filled with music, dance performances, and celebration. Families and friends from both sides will perform choreographed dances, and we will also have a DJ playing the latest Bollywood hits to get everyone on the dance floor. There will be a mix of traditional and contemporary songs, ensuring that every guest finds their rhythm. Drinks and light snacks will keep the energy high throughout the night. This is an opportunity for everyone to let loose, have fun, and share in the joy of the wedding.

Chakravarti Vivah
The Chakravarti Vivah is the highlight of our wedding, a sacred Jain marriage ceremony with deep cultural and spiritual significance. The ceremony will take place at a beautifully decorated mandap, where we will perform traditional rituals like Abhishek, Shantidhara, and Havana. The seven pheras (vows) will be taken around the holy fire, symbolizing our eternal bond. Close family and friends will be present to witness the blessings of the gods and our families as we unite in this ancient tradition. The ceremony will be simple, pure, and focused on spiritual devotion and the beginning of a new journey together.
Baraat
The groom’s arrival, or Baraat, is a grand procession filled with excitement and music. Akshat will arrive on a beautifully decorated horse, accompanied by a band playing lively tunes, while family and friends dance their way to the wedding venue. The procession will start from a nearby location and move toward the venue, with guests dressed in vibrant, colorful attire. Upon arrival, the bride’s family will warmly welcome the groom and his entourage with traditional rituals. This energetic and festive procession will set the stage for the wedding ceremony
Gala Dinner & Reception
Following the Chakravarti Vivah and other ceremonies, we will host a grand gala dinner to celebrate the union of two families. The dinner will feature an elaborate menu, with a wide range of Indian vegetarian dishes, catered to everyone’s tastes. From rich curries and dals to delectable desserts, guests will be treated to a royal feast. The dinner will be served in a relaxed atmosphere where guests can socialize and unwind after the wedding rituals.
