Afeed & Fidha's story
From Malappuram to Alleppey: A Love Written by Destiny"
I met my fiancé the traditional way through a matrimony site, introduced by our parents. It all began on a sunny afternoon in Malappuram, my hometown, when he came to see me with his parents. He had kind eyes, a warm smile, and a quiet charm that lingered even after he left.Soon after, he had to leave for Saudi Arabia for work. Though the time zones and distance stretched between us, our bond began to quietly grow. Through long calls, shy laughter, and shared dreams.
Later, I traveled to his hometown with my family. Alleppey was a poem of nature—lthe shimmering backwaters.
They took me on a shikara ride over the famous Punnamada Lake, and I found myself falling in love.Recently, we got engaged in a cozy, love-filled ceremony surrounded by our families. Now, we spend hours talking about our future and turning little dreams into shared adventures.Ours is a story of love like the slow ripple of backwaters under a setting sun.

Haldi
It is a lively and colorful event where family and friends gather to apply a turmeric paste (haldi) to the bride and groom. This paste is typically a mix of turmeric, sandalwood, rosewater, and sometimes milk or oil. In Muslim weddings, the ceremony may be referred to as Mayoon or Ubtan, depending on regional customs.
Purpose and Symbolism:
Purification: The turmeric paste is believed to cleanse and purify the skin, leaving the bride and groom glowing on their big day.
Blessings: The act of applying haldi is a symbolic gesture of blessing the couple for a happy and prosperous married life.
Protection: Traditionally, it is also thought to ward off evil spirits and negative energy before the sacred Nikah ceremony.
Petal Shower
As the bride-to-be makes her grand entrance — adorned in elegance, glowing with joy and anticipation — family and friends gather to welcome her by showering her with fresh flower petals.
The Symbolism:
Blessings and Good Wishes: The falling petals symbolize the blessings and well-wishes being showered upon the bride as she steps into a new chapter of her life.
Purity and Beauty: Flowers, especially rose petals, are associated with purity, love, and grace — qualities that surround the bride on her special day.
A Regal Welcome: Much like royalty, the bride is celebrated and honored. The petal shower gives her a dreamlike, cinematic entrance, often bringing smiles, awe, and even joyful tears.
ARABIC NIGHT
Inspired by Arabian culture, the celebration blends Gulf-style fashion, traditional Arabic songs, dances
Arikuth
Arikuth is a unique and cherished pre-wedding custom followed in parts of Malabar, Kerala, especially among the Mappila Muslim community. The term "Arikuth" literally means "rice pounding", and while its name comes from a historical practice, the event today symbolizes celebration, unity, and joyful beginnings.
1. Women-Centric Event:
Arikuth is primarily celebrated by women from the bride’s side, especially close family members and neighbors.
Dressed in traditional attire, often colorful old sarees or churidars, they gather in the courtyard or a decorated space.
mehendi
Mehendi Night is one of the most anticipated and cherished pre-wedding events in South Asian weddings — a joyful evening filled with laughter, music, dance, and the fragrant swirls of henna. For the bride-to-be, it marks a moment of pampering and celebration, surrounded by the warmth of her closest friends and family.
