Tabish & Shafaque's story
We met 15 years ago, two just-turned teenagers. Having been in a happy relationship for the last 13 years, we are finally taking this to the next level. And such a full circle moment - having met at someone else’s wedding, we will now solidify our relationship at your own wedding. Come and celebrate with us in the mesmerising heritage city of Kolkata. Experience an authentic Indian Muslim wedding - with henna ceremony for all, a night of dance and songs on the eve of the wedding and a scenic sunset Nikah ceremony at lakeside. And the highlight - the wedding reception with a grand feast of Mughlai food. It’s finally time you witnessed the hullabaloo of a big, fat Indian wedding!
Day 1Friday, April 3, 2026Kolkata
Starting time (approximately): 5:00 PM
Venue and host contact details will be disclosed upon booking.
Henna Ceremony and all-night Dance
On the eve of the wedding, guests come to the house of the bride for a free henna application on their hands (optional to apply). Guests can choose their own designs. When the henna has dried up and post-dinner, we pull an all-nighter where friends and family dance, sing and play games.
Day 2Saturday, April 4, 2026Kolkata
Starting time (approximately): 4:00 PM
Venue and host contact details will be disclosed upon booking.
Nikah
The penultimate moment of a Muslim wedding - the Nikah ceremony. It is the main ritual where the religious cleric asks the bride and groom their consent for marriage and upon receiving it, pronounce them married. Our nikah ceremony will take place at sunset beside a lake. The venue for this is the same as the wedding reception venue.
Wedding Reception
Done with the rituals, now its time to feast. The reception will start after a rough gap of 3 hours from the Nikah. Most of our guests have preferred to go back to their hotel rooms for a change of clothes (Can help with this). The reception is a grand affair with everyone on their most glamourous self. And here you have the start of the show - the grand Indian wedding feast! As it is a Indian Muslim wedding, you get traditional Mughal food like Biryani, Chicken Chaanp, all sorts of kebabs, traditional desserts and much more. We also keep vegetarian and continental options for those who prefer the same.
