The paste is made from turmeric, sandalwood, rosewater, and other ingredients.
Family and friends take turns applying the paste to the couple's face, neck, arms, hands, knees, and feet. They sing traditional songs and chant mantras while applying the paste.
Sangeet Rasam
The Sangeet is a pre-wedding ceremony in Indian weddings that involves music, dance, and celebration.
The Sangeet originated as a way for the bride and her family to relax before the wedding. It was a more intimate affair, with the bride's female family members singing folk songs and blessing the bride.

Wedding Ceremony
Baraat:
The wedding day begins with the Baraat, the groom’s procession to the bride's home. The groom, dressed in traditional attire, arrives on a horse or in a decorated car, accompanied by his family and friends, who dance and celebrate along the way.
Varmala (Jaimala):
Upon reaching the wedding venue, the bride and groom exchange floral garlands in the Varmala ceremony. This act symbolizes their acceptance of each other and their union in marriage.
Phere:
The Phere ceremony is the core of the wedding, where the bride and groom take seven sacred rounds around the sacred fire, known as the Agni. Each round signifies a vow or promise made to each other, and the couple commits to standing by each other for the rest of their lives.
