Ring Ceremony
Punjabi ring ceremony, also known as the **"Mangni"**, is a significant pre-wedding tradition in Punjabi culture. Its taking place 1 week before the wedding and symbolizes the formal engagement between the couple. This ceremony involves the exchange of rings between the bride and the groom, signifying their commitment to each other. Here's a description of how it generally unfolds: 1. **Pre-Ceremony Rituals**: - Close family members and friends gather at a designated venue, often the bride's or groom's home, or a banquet hall. 2. **Traditional Music and Dance**: - Punjabi music, including traditional songs, is played, and often, people perform the **Bhangra** or **Gidda** (traditional dance forms) to celebrate the occasion. 3. **Food and Celebration**: - After the exchange of rings, there is usually a lavish meal with a variety of traditional Punjabi dishes. The event is filled with singing, dancing, and lots of laughter.
