Bibek Bachan & Anannya's story
Their Love Story — was written in the pages of a "Central University campus" nearly seven years ago. It began quietly — two young dreamers crossing paths amidst books, chai breaks, and shared laughter. Friendship bloomed, hearts intertwined, and before they knew it, they had found something rare — a love that felt like home. Life, however, took them on different journeys — both in two different professions, their worlds separated by distance. Through years of waiting, distance never dimmed their connection. Now, after seasons of longing and hope, their story is coming full circle — in a ceremony unlike any other. An ""Ahom Chaklang Wedding"" where 101 lanterns light up the ceremony ground, and priests of the Tai Ahom community lead ancient chants and rituals, binding two souls not just in love, but in legacy. It’s not the usual Indian or Hindu wedding, it’s a cultural celebration where time, tradition, and togetherness dance in harmony.

Juroon Ceremony — The Traditional Engagement Ritual of an Assamese Wedding Time- 11:00 am - 12:00 noon The Juroon marks the formal beginning of the wedding celebrations in Assamese culture. It’s a pre-wedding ritual, led by the bride’s family as they officially welcome the groom’s family . The groom’s mother, along with a few close female relatives, visits the bride’s house or the decided venue bringing with them Juroon gifts — a beautifully arranged set of traditional items carried in brass plates (xorai), trays, and baskets (khorahi). The groom’s mother lovingly adorns the bride with the mekhela sador (traditional Assamese wear) and jewellery brought for her — symbolizing her acceptance as the future daughter-in-law.
