Pushkar & Ariha's story
Pushkar and I first crossed paths in the U.S. Two souls from India who ended up doing our Master’s degrees in the same country and somehow found each other at a networking event in Boston. (Fate? Destiny? I say yes!) What started as a friendship soon blossomed into something much deeper, and a few months later, he proposed and I said yes to forever. We’re getting married this November (2025) in Indore, India and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this next chapter with all the people who mean the world to us. I’m 24 and Pushkar is 30, and while we come from different cities, our hearts were definitely meant to meet. I truly believe we were meant to be at that event that day but even if we weren’t, the universe would’ve found another way to bring us together. Over 20 of our amazing friends and colleagues from the U.S. are flying in for the wedding! And we’re expecting more than 1500 guests at our big, fat, joy-filled Indian wedding in Indore. So yes it’s going to be a party.

Pheras
In a Hindu wedding, the pheras (also called saat phere or seven circles) are the heart of the ceremony—where the couple walks around the sacred fire (Agni) seven times, each round representing a specific vow and aspect of married life. As the fire acts as a divine witness, the bride and groom promise each other love, respect, loyalty, and a shared journey through joys and challenges. Each phera symbolizes values like nourishment, strength, prosperity, family, harmony, spiritual growth, and friendship. Traditionally, the groom leads the first few rounds, and then the bride leads the rest—signifying balance and partnership. It’s intimate, powerful, and deeply symbolic—a moment where two lives are spiritually bound together with promises that go beyond just this lifetime.
