Haldi.
The Haldi ceremony is a significant pre-wedding ritual in Indian culture where family and friends apply a paste of turmeric, oil, and water to the bride and groom. This sacred tradition, also known as Pithi or Mayian in various regions, is believed to bless the couple with prosperity and good luck.
Vaidik Vivah(Traditional marriage)
A Vaidik Vivah is a sacred Hindu rite of passage binding two souls through profound, symbol-rich rituals performed around a holy fire (). Key ceremonies include exchanging garlands (Jayamaala), the bride's parents offering her hand (Kanyadaan), the groom holding her hand and pledging support (Paani Grahan), circling the fire seven times (Saptapadi), and the groom applying vermillion (Sindoor) (). These steps, accompanied by ancient mantras, signify promises of duty (dharma), prosperity, and lifelong devotion
Regular Marathi Marriage
The core ceremony involves the Mangalashtakas, where the priest chants sacred verses as a curtain (Antarpat) separates the standing couple. At the auspicious moment (Muhurt), the curtain is removed, the couple sees each other, and exchanges flower garlands (Jaimala) while guests shower them with unbroken rice (Akshata) for blessings.
