About the hosts
Saikranth & Sourjali's story
Ours is a two-state, two-culture love story. We met at work, where friendship slowly blossomed into love. He is a Telugu Brahmin from Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, and I’m a Bengali girl from West Bengal. Despite our different backgrounds, we connected deeply through shared values, laughter, and mutual respect. As we begin our new journey together, we’ve chosen to celebrate both Telugu and Bengali wedding rituals—honoring the rich heritage we each come from, and blending them into a bond that reflects us both.

Wedding
Our wedding is a beautiful blend of Bengali and Telugu traditions, celebrating the union of two cultures with equal love and respect. The Bengali ceremony includes rituals like Mala Badal (exchange of garlands), Shubho Drishti, and the sacred Saat Paak around the groom, while the Telugu ceremony features Jeelakarra Bellam, Kanyadaanam, and the tying of the Mangalsutra under a decorated mandapam. Together, these rituals symbolize the sacred bond of marriage, enriched by the warmth and blessings of both our families.
