Chetan & Ishika's story
They say mothers know best, but we didn't believe it until now. Ours is a classic arranged setup with a bit of Bollywood drama. I was in Bangalore, he was in Germany, and our families decided we should meet. We first met in November 2024, I came with a list of questions; he came… terrified. The poor guy hadn’t spoken to girls much, and there I was, grilling him like it was an interview. He picked me up, we had our first cup of chai, and apparently, he went home and told his parents, “It’s either her or no one.” How romantic. I, on the other hand, wasn’t so sure. We were too different — I’m loud, ambitious, and social; he’s calm, family-first, and comfort-loving. When I almost said no, he didn’t argue — he listened. And he was so certain, I couldn’t say no. We got engaged in Hubli, went back to our lives in Bangalore and Germany, and grew closer through video calls and roasts. Now, we can’t wait to say yes — in person, finally.
Day 1Wednesday, December 10, 2025Bangalore
Starting time (approximately): 10:30 AM
Venue and host contact details will be disclosed upon booking.
Haldi Carnival
Our Haldi Carnival on 10th December brings together the beauty of tradition with the joy of a festive carnival. For those new to it, Haldi is one of India’s most loved wedding rituals. Family and friends gather to apply a paste of turmeric, sandalwood, and rosewater to the bride and groom — a ritual believed to bless them with glowing skin, good luck, and a lifetime of happiness. Then we turn up the energy with dance performances, fun speeches, and interactive carnival games that bring guests and hosts together for some lighthearted competition. There’ll be vibrant décor, upbeat music, and plenty of delicious food to fuel all the fun — from classic bites to playful carnival treats. So come ready to dance, play, laugh, and get drenched in sunshine (and turmeric) as we kick off our wedding celebrations in true festive style.
Mayra
The Mayra is an old tradition where the groom’s mama (maternal uncle) and the entire maternal side come together to bless him before the big day. The maternal uncles celebrate their sister (the groom's mother) and shower her with love, blessings and way too many gifts. It’s filled with laughter, a few happy tears, music, and old school traditions that will warm your heart.
Sangeet
Months of secret rehearsals. Moms, uncles, and grandmothers transforming living rooms into dance studios. Non-dancers being bribed, blackmailed, or straight-up dragged to practice. All leading up to this night — the Sangeet! Expect dramatic entries, unexpected talent, and a few moves no one saw coming (for better or worse). There’ll be laughter, some tears, a whole lot of thumkas, and the bride and groom’s first dance. This will be dhamakedaar.
DJ Night
When the rituals are done and you've watched the performances, it’s time to really turn up the volume. Our DJ Night is where everyone leaves their heels, inhibitions, and perfectly set hair behind — and just dances. Set inside a cave, it’s all about neon lights, loud beats, and Bollywood hits. The only rule? If you’re not on the dance floor, you’re missing out.
Day 2Friday, December 12, 2025Bangalore
Starting time (approximately): 10:30 AM
Venue and host contact details will be disclosed upon booking.
Sambhela and Varmala
The Sambhela is when the groom (on his white horse) and his whole gang make their way to the venue — with dhols, dj, singers, dancing, and a lot of happy chaos. It’s loud, messy, and full of energy in the best way. When the baarat finally arrives, comes the Varmala — that sweet moment when the bride and groom meet, exchange garlands, and everything suddenly feels real.
Anniversary Celebration
When your in-laws got married on the same date as your wedding, you can’t not celebrate it — and in our case, we’re raising a toast (or rather, a cup of chai) to them. Celebrating almost 30 years of their love as we step into our own — with cake, hi-tea, music, and a whole lot of heartfelt laughter.
Reception
The grandest of them all — the Reception is what you picture when you think of a big fat Indian wedding. Everyone dressed in their finest, lights everywhere, and cameras flashing non-stop (like, really non-stop). There’ll be food, laughter, and endless photos as we meet everyone for the first time as husband and wife. This is just before we have our pheras (seven sacred vows)
Campfire
Before the ceremony, we’re keeping it cozy (and slightly off-key) with a Campfire Karaoke night! Think warm lights, cooler weather, and everyone huddled around the fire, singing their hearts out — some beautifully, some… bravely. There’ll be music, laughter, late-night snacks, and stories that get funnier as the night goes on. No stage, no rules — just good vibes, bad singing, and the best memories.
