Marriage
Baraat (Groom’s Procession) – The groom arrives at the wedding venue with a lively procession of family and friends dancing. Milni – The bride’s family welcomes the groom’s family with garlands and blessings. Ganesh Puja – A prayer to Lord Ganesha to remove obstacles and bless the marriage. Kanyadaan – The bride’s father gives his daughter’s hand to the groom, symbolizing the union of two families. Mangal Pheras (Sacred Fire Ritual) – The couple walks around the sacred fire (Agni) seven times, taking vows for their married life. Sindoor & Mangalsutra – The groom applies sindoor (vermillion) on the bride’s forehead and ties the mangalsutra (sacred necklace), signifying she is married.
