About the hosts
Abhishek & Sunetra's story
It all started on a rainy evening when I met Sunetra. She offered me her umbrella, and honestly, that one small gesture changed everything for me.
From late-night calls to silly fights over movie plots, we’ve shared it all. She laughs at my worst jokes, and I still get lost in her eyes like it’s the first time. I remember the night I proposed—nothing fancy, just us under the stars. I told her, “Every version of my future has you in it,” and she just hugged me, teary-eyed. That moment was everything.
Now, it’s the little things—our morning coffee, dancing in the kitchen, arguing over who gets the last bite of dessert. We’re not perfect, but we’re real.
And for me, that’s love. That’s us.

Wedding
A Bengali wedding is a vibrant blend of tradition, rituals, and emotions. It begins with Aiburobhat, a special meal for the bride and groom before their wedding. On the wedding day, the bride, dressed in a red Banarasi saree with alta on her feet and shola crown, is brought in covering her face with betel leaves during the Shubho Drishti—the sacred first glance with the groom. The couple then exchanges garlands in the Mala Badal ceremony.
The wedding rituals continue with Sampradan, Saat Paak, and the sacred Saptapadi around the fire. The ceremony ends with the emotional Bidai, as the bride leaves her home to start a new life.
Full of colors, conch shells, dhak beats, and love—Bengali weddings are a beautiful celebration of culture and commitment.

Bidai
Bidai is the most emotional moment in a Bengali wedding. It marks the bride’s departure from her parental home. With teary eyes and a heavy heart, she says goodbye to her family, stepping into a new life with her husband. As she leaves, elders bless her, and the atmosphere is filled with both sorrow and hope—a bittersweet blend of memories and new beginnings.

It's a grand celebration with food, music, and warm wishes, marking the start of their journey together in society’s eyes.
