Hi myself Dr. Akshada i stay in Mumbai, my fiance and i met online through matrimony, he is by profession an engineer, as time passed our vibes matched and we could see that we can be a great couple this all happened few months ago, later we decided to meet after talking for so long on phones, we used to communicate via video calls as he was out of station due to work, we both belong to maratha caste and we are from Maharashtra. When we met I had a setup for him where I proposed to him and later he got surprised by seeing all of that, I gifted him a bracelet of gold with his name on it and he loved it. This was our story and we got engaged on 13 feb 2025. We would like to invite you guests and see how maharashtrian wedding takes place. This wedding is going to be indian traditional- maharashtrian wedding followed by all the rituals , which we maharashtrians have been following since decades. Haldi
On haldi we celebrate the pre wedsing rituals by applying haldi to bride and groom. All the loved once and even guests apply haldi on groom and brides face, legs, and hands. It's a beautiful fun loving ritual as haldi/turmeric known for its beauty effects we apply it on bride and groom for the pre glow. This haldi event will start around 10 am
Varmala
For varmaala groom comes on wedding horse with music, everyone dances to the music mainly mens. Varmala is a ritual where bride and groom gets to put beautiful varmalas made of flowers on each other. It's an fun loving event and everyone is emotional to see this part of event.
Vidhi/saptapadi
Saptapadi- is the most important and beautiful event where according to our culture 7 promises are made by bride and groom to each other. The couple is set across agni /havan which is fire kunda and they are made to take promises. The couple then goes around completing each circle to fire(around the fire- non harmful) with each promise they make. Kanyaadan takes place where brides parents do the kanyadan denotes that they have given their precious daughter to someone other than them. And here the wedding ceremony ends after this with bidaai. Bidaai where bride is sent off and it's very emotional moment for the loved once. There after bride and groom goes ahead with their ride to start off the new life.
