About the hosts
abhishek & manasi's story
My name is Abhishek, and I’m an artist by passion and profession. I recently married Manasi, a brilliant mutual fund analyst, and our journey together has been nothing short of beautiful. We were introduced by our parents, and what began as an arranged meeting quickly turned into a deep and meaningful bond. Despite coming from different professional worlds, we’ve found a perfect balance in our relationship. Today, we live not only as husband and wife but also as close friends, sharing laughter, dreams, and everyday moments. Our differences complement each other, and together, we make a strong and loving team.

Simant Pujan is a traditional Hindu wedding ritual, usually performed a day or two before the wedding. It’s a warm welcome ceremony where the groom’s family formally visits the bride’s home. The bride’s family performs a puja (prayer ritual) to honor and bless the groom, acknowledging him as an important guest and soon-to-be family member. • The word Simant means “boundary,” symbolizing the groom crossing over into the bride’s world. • The ritual typically includes applying a tilak (vermilion mark) on the groom’s forehead, offering gifts, and performing an aarti (a traditional lamp ceremony). • It represents respect, love, and acceptance of the groom into the bride’s family.
sangeet
all family members will participate in sangeet and perform in their own way
haladi
The Haladi (or Haldi) function is a joyful pre-wedding ceremony in which a turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom’s body, usually at their respective homes. • The yellow haldi paste (a mix of turmeric, sandalwood, rose water, and other ingredients) is believed to purify, protect, and bless the couple before their big day. • It’s also symbolic of beauty and prosperity, as turmeric gives a natural glow to the skin. • The ceremony is filled with music, laughter, and celebration, as friends and family lovingly apply the haldi to the couple while sharing blessings and good wishes.

Varmala (also called Jaimala) is a beautiful and symbolic ritual in Indian weddings where the bride and groom exchange floral garlands. • The word “Var” means groom and “Mala” means garland. • This exchange symbolizes the acceptance of each other as life partners. • It is often the first ritual that takes place once the bride and groom meet on the wedding stage. • It’s also seen as a gesture of love, respect, and equality between the couple. The Varmala ceremony is usually filled with fun and laughter, as friends and family cheer, and sometimes even playfully lift the bride or groom to make it more exciting!
