The wedding ceremony
We are celebrating a traditional South Indian Karnataka Brahmin wedding, a beautiful union filled with vibrant customs and rituals that have been passed down through generations.
Our wedding ceremonies will include several significant traditions, such as
Naandi: Bride prays to the deities.
Welcoming the Groom
Kasthuri Tilakam: Applying sandalwood paste and kumkum to symbolize blessings.
Kashi Yatra: A playful ritual where the groom symbolically renounces worldly life before being brought back by the bride’s family.
Mangalya Dharanam: The sacred tying of the mangalsutra by the groom around the bride's neck, signifying the formal union.
The celebration will be accompanied by authentic Karnataka vegetarian cuisine served on banana leaves, traditional attire, and melodious music.
We’re excited to share this day with family, friends, and those curious about experiencing the rich culture of a South Indian wedding. Join us to witness and be part of a ceremony steeped in tradition and joy!
