Siddharth & Sambhavi's story
Siddharth and I (Sambhavi) first met on Bumble, but as we got to know each other, we realized our lives had been quietly intertwined for years through mutual friends and shared connections. It felt like fate had been weaving our story long before we crossed paths. From the very beginning, we knew we had found something special. Despite living miles apart, we built our relationship on trust, laughter, and shared dreams. For four years, we navigated the challenges of long distance, cherishing every call, every reunion, and every moment of growth together. Now, as we prepare to start our married life, we’re filled with gratitude for the journey that brought us here. What began as a swipe turned into a love story built on friendship, patience, and a bond that feels like destiny. We’re excited to embark on this new chapter and look forward to a lifetime of adventures together as soulmates.

Viratham, Nichayathartham, Haldi
A Tamil Brahmin wedding is a blend of rituals and cultural significance. It begins with the Viratham, a pre-wedding ceremony where the bride and groom, at their respective homes, invoke family deities for blessings and spiritually prepare for their union. This intimate ritual marks the start of the wedding festivities. Next is the Nichayathartham, or engagement ceremony, where families formally announce the wedding. Relatives gather as turmeric and kumkum are exchanged to symbolize auspiciousness. The couple is blessed for a joyful and prosperous life, and gifts are exchanged to celebrate. The Haldi ceremony, though not traditionally Tamil Brahmin, adds a vibrant touch. Turmeric is applied to the bride and groom by loved ones, symbolizing purification and a fresh start. This joyous event, filled with music and dancing, sets the tone for the celebrations. Together, these rituals form the foundation of a Tamil Brahmin wedding, rich in tradition and love.
Reception (evening)
The Reception in a Tamil Brahmin wedding is a joyous celebration where family and friends gather to bless the newlyweds and join in their happiness. Held after the traditional wedding rituals, it is a vibrant event blending cultural warmth with modern festivities. The evening begins with the bride and groom, dressed in elegant attire, greeting guests on a beautifully decorated stage. Guests offer their blessings and capture memories with the couple through photographs. Adding to the festivities, there will be fun games and interactive activities for guests to enjoy, making the event lively and engaging for all ages. Live music, blending classical and contemporary tunes, creates a cheerful ambiance. The celebration is complete with a delicious feast, featuring a mix of traditional Tamil Brahmin dishes and modern cuisine. The Reception is a heartfelt occasion to share joy, express gratitude, and create cherished memories with loved ones.

Muhurtham
The Muhurtham, the sacred wedding ceremony in a Tamil Brahmin wedding, is rich in tradition and symbolism. It begins with the Kasi Yatra, where the groom humorously declares his intent to renounce worldly life and become an ascetic. The bride's father intervenes, offering his daughter in marriage, symbolizing the importance of family and partnership. This is followed by the Malai Mathal, where the bride and groom exchange garlands, signifying their acceptance of each other. Playful moments ensue as family members lift the couple, adding joy to the ritual. Next is the Oonjal (swing ceremony), where the couple sits on a decorated swing, gently rocked by family. This symbolizes balance and stability in married life. They are offered milk and bananas as traditional songs and blessings surround them. These meaningful rituals mark the beginning of a lifelong partnership, filled with love, trust, and respect.
